Vacation Bible School (VBS)

VBS 2017 is in the books!

The VBS theme for 2017 was Group Publishing’s Maker Fun Factory.

What is VBS?

What do you get when you add 200 children, 50 adults and 30 youth to a church filled with the love of Jesus?  Why Vacation Bible School of course…and an amazingly energetic, fabulous week full of joy in the Lord!

Kids participate 9–12.30 each day of VBS week, starting and ending with large-group skits and singing, and rotating through age-appropriate crafts, snacks, drama, kids’ cinema, and music.

Our goal for Vacation Bible School  (VBS) is to provide each child with a week of positive, Christ-centered experiences that will help them grow in faith and build meaningful relationships with one another.  Our prayer is that each child will come home from VBS each day with a stronger faith, a big smile, some great crafts and special memories.

VBS 2016

The 2016 theme was Group Publishing’s Cave Quest.  You can read all about it on page 23 of the July 1st, 2016 edition of Saratoga Today.

Helping others

It is a VBS tradition to collect loose change for someone in need.  In past years the kids raised $1000–1500…a lot of loose change…for organizations like Saratoga’s Code Blue.

In 2016 we hoped to raise $3400 to build a complete house through Food for the Poor in Latin America…a big increase! We asked the congregation and the community to help out, and in the end the total was $4342! And then, Food for the Poor was able, through a generous anonymous donation, to double the amount to $8684!

Thanks to everyone for their generous support!  You can’t outgive God…
