Church Council
The Council is St. Paul's Leadership team. The congregation elects ten people to Council. Along with our pastors,
Council then acts on behalf of the congregation.
Board of Elders
Elected board that assists the pastors in the spiritual care of the congregation and also is primarily responsible
for the spiritual care of the pastors.
CCC Board
Members of the Board of Directors devote their time to assuring that the center is operated lovingly and as efficiently
as possible. They are children oriented and have the professional background to understand the multiple needs of
children at this stage of development.
February SonShine Leader
February SonShine is St. Paul's 3-day mid-winter Vacation Bible School, held during Presidents' week. Several and various
leadership roles are needed on annual basis: director, teachers, snack coordinators, craft and snack leaders, registration
helpers, follow-up team and the like.
Facilities Planning
A creative team to assess the future facility needs of St. Paul's such as long range planning for the following areas:
worship space, education space, parking space, capital maintenance projects.
Great Expectations Programs
A team that explores the future ministry needs of St. Paul's and communicates these ideas to existing and prospective
ministry leaders.
Human Resource Development
A team that educates and consults members of St. Paul's about their spiritual gifts, passions, personal styles and
connects them with ministry opportunities.
Hospitality Ministry
The team that is responsible for encouraging worshippers to invite and welcome guests at worship. This team leads
the rapid response follow up of guests of our church to bring more people to Jesus Christ and assimilate them into
His Church.
Children's Ministry Outreach
Connecting with unchurched and underchurched parents and families that bring childrens to St. Paul's
Sunday School, Christian Childhood Center (CCC) and vacation ministries such as Vacation Bible School.
Communication Ministries
Reaching out to the community by spreading God's Word and sharing His love through a variety of communication
channels such as brochures, newsletters, weekly news, website, presentations, video/audio tapings, visits,
phone calls, follow up, etc.
LWML
The mission of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML), now called Lutheran Women in Mission is to assist
each woman of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod use her gifts for reaching out to the world with the
Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Outreach Training
New Ministry: Training and equipping of those who desire to share their faith in Christ with people they
know are not followers of Christ.
AD & LCMS Mission Education
A team that researches and educates the people of St. Paul's on the local, regional, and international mission
work of our church body. This team would also present and encourage individuals and the congregation to support
this mission work both through volunteer efforts and financially through generous mission offerings.
Disaster Response Team
New ministry: A team that would respond to natural and man-made disasters locally, regionally, and throughout
the nation through volunteer work.
Stephen Minister
A congregation member who is recruited, selected, trained, commissioned, and supervised by Stephen Leaders to provide
one-to-one confidential Christian care to the bereaved, hospitalized, terminally ill, separated, divorced, unemployed,
relocated, and others facing a crisis or life challenge. Go to the

ChristCare Small Groups
Gatherings of 3-12 people who meet on a regular basis (usually once a week or twice a month) with a trained, commisioned,
and supervised leader in order to grow as Jesus' disciples. Christcare groups participate in four main activites: community
building and care, Biblical equipping, prayer and worship, and missional service. Go to the

Care Visitors
Care Visitors are trained and supervised to reach out to and care for inactive members of the congregation.
Human Care Ministry
Human Care Ministry responds to those who have such basic needs as food, clothing and shelter and many other human
needs. St. Paul's is part of "C.A.N." (the Saratoga Crises Action Network) consisting of social service agencies and houses
of faith that coordinate meeting human need in the Saratoga area.
Eucharistic Assistant
A Eucharistic assistant is a congregation member who is recommended, trained, and supervised by the Senior Pastor
and approved by the elders to assist in the distribution of Holy Communion to the sick and the shut-ins after worship.
Card Ministry
Greeting cards are sent to the ill, the grieving, and those celebrating anniversaries or birthdays.
"A Gift from God" Devotional Basket
Free baskets of devotional books, teddy bears, and other items given to people going through a difficult time
such as the bereaved, hospitalized, terminally ill, separated, divorced, unemployed, relocated, and others facing
a crisis or life challenge.
Habitat for Humanity
Idea Renewed: Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. HFHI seeks to
eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent sheltera matter of conscience and action.
Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need.
A number of houses are to be built in the Greenfield Center area.
Transportation
Idea Renewed: Provide a ride for those who need transportation to the doctor, for food shopping, and/or to church.
Planting Gospel Seeds While Serving Human Needs
New Ministry: An outreach development process sponsored by the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod Board of Human Care through
on site consultation and a workshop to help the people of St. Paul's better connect with our community by identifying
the most critical, unmet or under-served human needs in our area.
