St. Paul's Christian Childhood Center is a Ministry of St. Paul's Lutheran Church to assist families in the early Christian training of their children. Upon approval from the voting members of St. Paul's congregation, the school opened its doors in Spetember of 1996, with two programs: a two-day 3 year preschool program, and a three-day 4 year old preschool program.
New in September of 1998, a Pre-K program was added for children who are 4 or 5 years old, as well as an extended day program for children 3-5 years of age. Extended day is designed for children of working parents/guardians who need year round care. The Pre-K Program is designed for children who need an extra year of maturation before entering kindergarten. Children must be 4 years old before the 30th of April prior to enrollment in Pre-K.
In the year 2002 as additional three day, afternoon (12:20-3:00pm) 4 year old preschool program was added to accommodate the growing number of children needing preschool.
This year, September 2003, we added a Toddler all day program to complement our Extended Day Program. This program serves children 18 to 36 months old.
It is a fact that the initial experiences in a child's education have the most powerful impact on their future development and, indeed, their lives. However, an early childhood experience permeated by Christianity provides a child with added richness. Our program recognizes not only mental, emotional, social, and physical needs, but spiritual ones as well.
Our primary objective is the fostering of each child's development in a Christian atmosphere, with strong attention to individual needs. This emphasis on individual attention springs from our understanding that all children differ greatly in developmental levels, life experiences, and personality. We offer a Christian program balanced with an age-appropriate structure with equal importance given to socialization and general kindergarten readiness.
A typical day at St. Paul's CCC offers a wide variety of fun and age appropriate educational experiences in a loving Christian environment. Bible stories, daily devotions, music, arts and crafts are all part of an integrated Christ-centered program. Socialization is enhanced through show and tell, playtime, storytime, singing, and dancing, holiday activities, parties, etc. An extensive arts and crafts program is geared toward the age group and provides enhancement of small motor coordination. Occasional, well-supervised field trips may be offered and various members of the community may visit the school.
